SHARE BIKES: what a pity, a symptom of something?

by Arnold Jago in Common Sense, Environment, Happiness, Health, Lifestyle

An idea, in theory, so brilliant and promising:
Inexpensive, exercise-promoting, exhaust smoke-free….
The results, in practice, so disgusting:
Junk everywhere, maintenance neglected, pedestrians fractured….
What’s the problem?
The problem is human nature itself, with its four built-in flaws:
Its ignorance, weakness, cravings and malice.
The answer?
The answer is a completely changed mentality – a commitment to loving one’s neighbour and to the common good.
Attention, Catholic bishops and Catholic educators!
The Gospel entrusted to you to proclaim is not getting proclaimed.
Quit compromising. Start proclaiming — by word and by example.
Your God is waiting for you to do your job.
Perhaps we could all have a look at our word and example. There may be some room for improvement.

PRESIDENT TRUMP AND THE MEXICO CITY POLICY: abortion here compared with there.

by Arnold Jago in Abortion, Australia, Politics

Adolph Hitler is supposed to have said, “We don’t ask you to kill Jews. We just want you not to stop us killing Jews.”
Australia’s abortionist doctors and their supporters seem to be saying, “You don’t need to kill babies. Just don’t stop us killing them.”
In parts of Australia, GP doctors are obliged by state law to do baby-murders or — if a bit squeamish about murdering personally – to refer would-be aborting mothers to doctors with fewer hang-ups.
Meanwhile, President Trump recently reinstituted America’s “Mexico City Policy” which prohibits US agencies from providing or funding abortions overseas.
This Policy, enacted in 1984 by President Reagan, scrapped under Clinton and Obama, is now eventually restored as from 15 May 2017.
Mr. Trump has also slashed funding to top local abortion provider, Planned Parenthood.
So, if you don’t like Donald for whatever reason, bear in mind that he’s at least in a different category of human being from many murderous individuals holding top jobs around Australia.

SAME-SEX PLEBISCITE AND RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS: what does the future hold?

by Arnold Jago in Australia, Faith, Family, Politics

Traditionally-minded people will be pleased if the No-vote wins this marriage plebiscite.
What to do if the result is a Yes-vote?
Must they concede their loss while pleading for free speech and religious freedom exemptions?
No, for Christians it’s a case of:
“Religious freedoms are something God has built into us.
“We don’t need the government, thanks.
“With or without their blessing, we’ll keep expressing the gospel as best we can.
“Lock us up, crucify us — physically or mentally – suit yourself.
“Our only worry is to make sure we express ourselves in a loving and charitable manner.”

SAME-SEX MARRIAGE LAWS: no bad results? really? what has happened in Canada?

by Arnold Jago in Australia, Common Sense, Family, Lifestyle, Persecution

If you still believe that legalising “same sex marriage” won’t lead to you losing your freedom of religion and your freedom of speech….
And that it won’t lead to classroom brain-washing of your children about how anal sex etc. is OK….
And that parents won’t lose the right to take children out of classes which teach anti-family ideology….
If you believe all that, you had better have a look at this video:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBfr6xAWtEI
If it can happen in Canada, it can happen here.
Be warned.
